Chroma's 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Report First Granted GRI G4 & AA1000 International Certification from British Standards Institution (BSI)

Chroma ATE Inc. recently released its 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Report that has been granted certification from the British Standards Institution for the first time. The verification certificate was awarded to Paul Ying, the Deputy General Manager of Finance & Administration Center at Chroma, from the General Manager of BSI Taiwan branch, Peter Pu.

Paul Ying used the electric vehicle battery measurement equipment as an example to explain the key role Chroma plays in the global green energy industry. For a 12ppm (no. of battery production per minutes) EV battery production line, Chroma can help customers to effectively reduce process power consumption by 50%, saving up to 8 million NT dollars a year per production line. Many believe, compared to gasoline, electricity is an excellent choose for Clean Energy. However, they may have overlooked that a battery has to go through serval charge and discharge cycles during the activation process, each cycle takes about 20 hours, which occupies 30% of the overall manufacturing costs. In other words, battery manufacturing is actually a power-consuming industry. Chroma has successfully developed a regenerative battery formation system that is able to reutilize this process power energy, effectively reducing power consumption, as we believe that reusing electricity is the best way to cherish it.

In addition, Paul Ying also discussed Chroma’s intention to build a new headquarters, adapting green building technologies to air conditioning equipment, space allocation, lighting systems, water cycling, and more in order to more efficiently use electricity and water resources. The new headquarters will be a green building.

The BSI GM, Peter Pu, responded that Chroma's effort integrating its business to fulfill this corporate social responsibility is very remarkable. This allows Chroma to not only keep its leading position in the testing market by entering the global green energy business ahead of others, but also to become a driving force in the green industry through vigorous development.

The dynamic CSR report on Chroma’s website was completed with the collaboration of Leadership® which has been involved in the CSR project at Chroma for 2 years. Edison Wang, the GM of Leadership®, indicated that it was an honor to work with Chroma consecutively, and to witness the practice and sustained progress of corporate social responsibility.
